I hope you are all planning to get along to the Plymouth Hotel this Thursday at 7.30 pm to hear mountaineer Lydia Bradey’s presentation. Lydia is being hosted by the Taranaki Alpine Club and this event takes the place of our usual club night. In 1988 Lydia became the first woman to summit Everest without supplemental oxygen. Lydia is an IFMGA Mountain and Ski Guide, and guides in New Zealand and overseas, especially at higher altitude.This is an evening not to be missed! Hi everyone, Just a reminder that the feature event for October club night is the Open Climb induction. Attendance is essential for all of those club members who would like to help out with the Open Climb on Saturday 17 February 2018. Following the induction we’ll be watching a climbing movie called “The Long Hope”. This weekend saw the first Snowcraft One course take place.
