HiTAC December 2025

From the President’s desk It’s been a great month for getting things signed off! Open Climb concession has been signed and stamped, and Glen has got the Qualworx renewal across the line too! So now what we need is you guys to volunteer your time and experience to assist getting the punters up and down the maunga safely on Saturday 14th February 2026. If you are keen, contact me and I will send you the necessary information. HiTAC November 2025

From the President’s desk Spring has washed the snow away greatly, however at the point of writing this the slush summit went ahead, and they had a great day! We have had a few youth members join the club lately which is fantastic, as we need to keep building the foundation for future years. However, I have been disappointed with the lack of respect when it comes to taking mates who are not members and staying overnight at the lodge and not paying the minimal charge of $25.00. I don’t want to be making phone calls to these guys when […]

HiTAC October 2025

From the President’s desk Well folks the new mattresses have arrived and are currently stored in my garage! When the snow melts, we will apply for road access to get them up to the lodge. I’ve had a couple of people request use of the old ones we are retiring. In fact, we are going to require several volunteers that day! It doesn’t seem far, the walk from translator […]

HiTAC September 2025

I was pleased to see that nature supported us this year with great snow levels so both Snowcraft 1 courses could go ahead, plus the more challenging Snowcraft 2 course also. A big thanks to all the leaders and assistances that donate their time & knowledge so our members can feel more confident in the white stuff! Some exciting news is I am currently working […]

HiTAC August 2025

From the President’s desk Finally, we have some snow to play in. As I type, our first Snowcraft 1 course is in progress. Thanks to Andy & Jo Thompson for being our leaders for this one. Snowcraft 2 is next weekend led by Dave Bolger & Fletcher Miles, then the last Snowcraft 1 with Steve Ritson & Finn Gable. Very grateful that we have such skilled leadership teams that are willing to grow & guide our members. I have had a good cull of unpaid members this year and have cancelled the fobs so entry to the lodge is no […]
